Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken ground turkey works as well
  • ½ medium yellow or sweet onion finely diced
  • ½ jalapeño pepper minced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced or crushed
  • ¼ cup plain or Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg whisked
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard or other mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary minced
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings: cheese lettuce, tomato, avocado, red onion, mayonnaise, ketchup, and/or mustard

Instructions

  • Place the onion, jalapeño, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and rosemary in a medium mixing bowl and mix thoroughly. Add the ground chicken and stir to combine until everything is evenly distributed. Be careful not to overmix or you could get tough burgers.
½ medium yellow or sweet onion, ½ jalapeño pepper, 4 garlic cloves, ¼ cup plain or Italian breadcrumbs, 1 large egg, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, 1 pound ground chicken
  • Place about a teaspoon of the mixture on a plate and microwave on high for 15-20 seconds until cooked through. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
  • Preheat a grill or large skillet over medium-high heat. Shape the chicken mixture into 4 patties, pressing a small divot in the center of each patty so the burgers don’t shrink as they cook.
  • Place the patties in the preheated pan and cook for 4-6 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook for an additional 4-6 minutes or until completely cooked through and the internal temperature has reached 165°F. If you are adding cheese, place it on top of your patties in the last 1-2 minutes of cooking.
  • Once fully cooked, place the burgers on the buns, adding toppings as desired, serve, and enjoy!
Optional toppings: cheese, 4 hamburger buns
