These PIGS IN A BLANKET are the ultimate crowd-pleasing snack—golden, buttery crescent rolls wrapped around mini cocktail wieners and baked to perfection. They come together in minutes and are perfect for game days, parties, or just a fun treat at home. Serve them up with your favorite dipping sauces, and watch them disappear!

There’s something about pigs in a blanket that makes them the ultimate party snack. They’re simple, satisfying, and always the first thing to disappear from the table. My wife and I started making these for gatherings a few years ago, and now they’ve become a staple at every party we host. No matter the occasion, whether it’s a game night, a holiday party, or just a casual get-together, everyone flocks to them. The best part? They look impressive, but they’re actually one of the easiest snacks you can make.

We love this recipe because it requires just a handful of ingredients, most of which we usually have on hand. Store-bought crescent roll dough wraps around mini cocktail wieners for the perfect flaky, buttery bite. A quick brush of melted butter and a sprinkle of coarse salt or everything seasoning take them to the next level. They bake up golden brown and crisp in less than 20 minutes, making them ideal for last-minute entertaining.

Of course, no pigs in a blanket are complete without the perfect dipping sauce. Classic yellow mustard is always a favorite, but we also love serving them with ketchup, ranch, or even a homemade honey mustard. It’s one of those snacks that feels just a little bit fancier with the right dip on the side.

Whether you’re making these for a party or just craving a nostalgic snack, they couldn’t be easier to throw together. If you’ve never made them before, trust me—you’ll be hooked after the first batch. Just be sure to make plenty, because they will disappear fast!

What do I need to make Pigs in a Blanket?

  • ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR – Used for dusting to prevent the dough from sticking while rolling it out.
  • CRESCENT ROLL DOUGH – The flaky, buttery dough that wraps around the wieners, baking into a golden, crispy shell.
  • MINI COCKTAIL WIENERS – The star of the recipe! These bite-sized sausages are perfect for wrapping and baking.
  • UNSALTED BUTTER – Brushed on top before baking to add extra flavor and help achieve a golden-brown crust.
  • COARSE SALT OR EVERYTHING SEASONING – Sprinkled on top for a final touch of flavor and texture. Everything seasoning adds an extra pop of garlic, onion, and sesame seeds.

How to make Pigs in a Blanket

1. PREHEAT THE OVEN AND PREP YOUR BAKING SHEET

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F. This ensures even baking and gives the crescent rolls that golden-brown finish. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.

2. ROLL OUT AND CUT THE CRESCENT DOUGH

On a lightly floured surface, unroll the crescent dough. If using perforated crescent roll sheets, gently pull apart the pre-cut triangles. To create the perfect size for mini cocktail wieners, take each larger triangle and cut it into three smaller triangles. A pizza cutter works great for this step, but a sharp knife will do just fine.

3. WRAP THE MINI WIENERS

Take a mini cocktail wiener and place it at the wider end of a dough triangle. Gently roll it toward the narrow end, ensuring the dough wraps snugly around the wiener. Don’t stretch the dough too tightly—it should wrap naturally without being too loose or too tight. Place the wrapped wiener seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet to prevent unrolling while baking. Repeat until all the dough and wieners are used.

4. BRUSH WITH BUTTER AND ADD SEASONING

Melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter and lightly brush it over the wrapped pigs in a blanket using a pastry brush. This step helps them bake up golden and flavorful. If you want an extra pop of texture and taste, sprinkle coarse salt or everything seasoning on top before baking.

5. BAKE TO GOLDEN PERFECTION

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 14-18 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges. Check on them around the 12-minute mark to ensure they don’t overbake.

6. SERVE WITH YOUR FAVORITE DIPS

Remove the pigs in a blanket from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Arrange them on a platter with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy! These are best served fresh and warm, but trust me, they’ll be gone before you even think about leftovers!

The Best Dipping Sauces for Pigs in a Blanket

One of the best things about pigs in a blanket is how versatile they are when it comes to dipping sauces. Whether you like classic flavors or want to try something new, there’s a sauce for everyone.

  • Yellow or Dijon Mustard – A tangy, slightly spicy mustard is the perfect contrast to the buttery crescent dough.
  • Ketchup – A simple, kid-friendly classic that always works.
  • Honey Mustard – A sweet and tangy option that adds a little extra depth to each bite.
  • Ranch Dressing – If you’re a ranch lover, this creamy, herby sauce is a great addition.
  • Cheese Sauce – Warm, gooey cheese sauce takes pigs in a blanket to the next level.
  • Spicy Mayo or Sriracha Mayo – For a little heat, mix mayo with a splash of sriracha or hot sauce.

Feel free to serve a few different options so guests can mix and match their favorites!
